Reflections: HDR Vehicle Photography

Vehicle Photography: (Photographs shot using a Nikon D5100 DSLR). In this post I would like to shine a light on vehicle photography, for fine art print. Until recently my access to high-end motor vehicles has been limited to motorcycles. It's strange to think, but some of the worlds top class motorcycles can be rented out for a day or more, for as little as one hundred dollars. But their equivalent in the car market would usually be beyond most peoples budget.

I'm now lucky enough to be located close to the BIRA Circuit, "The Home of Pure Racing", on the outskirts of Pattaya, Chonburi Province, Thailand. BIRA complex is also home to BIRA Shooting Range, newly developed for the IPSC Handgun League - to kill two birds with one stone. BIRA Circuit is easy access for photographers. There's no need to dust-off your press-pass, as there are few people to turn you away. Nevertheless, respect for those using the facilities is always advised. Thailand fosters a healthy love of motorsport, and as such, an increasingly wide range of talent use these facilities for testing their vehicles. With this type of access, I hope to bring you a lot more from BIRA track-side. Furthermore, in this post, I will also try to showcase some of the more interesting types of vehicles I've been able to photograph, including those at locations other than BIRA.

The following set of images have been processed using High Dynamic Range & Tone Mapping (HDR) and Photoshop. HDR is a relatively new style of editing photographic images. For more information on this process please visit my post, "Creating High Dynamic Range". If you are interested in purchasing a signed and certified print(s) please feel free to contact me.
