Feature Artist: Fast Forward Crew

An Interview With: Cami

Dr. Christophers: Give me some background on where you come from, and the lifestyle that set in motion your desire to becoming an Artist. And, how did it all start for you, with regards to inspiration for making art? - who and what were the main inspirations for your style of artwork.

FFC: I grew up in Ingolstadt in Bavaria, where I started with streetart and graffiti stuff with my little brother and crew-mate NoizTwo. Together we are the "Fast Forward Crew". Currently, I study graphic design in Berlin. I don't think I'm an artist. I like to paint, but I think art is more than colorful pictures. Nevertheless, I like colorful pictures.

I can't remember how I started to paint. I always did it. I did my first graffiti work in 1999, or so. Inspiration is everything that surrounds you. Friends, family, movies, food, drinking etc.

Dr. Christophers: Talk to me about the medium you use mostly and why - talk about process.

FFC: The most important, and most used medium is my pencil. On walls, I prefer cans. Over the past few years I've used photography, too. I like photoshop and digital paintings.

Dr. Christophers: In your eyes, your most memorable works: can you give me an example (funny) of the process of creating it (a story of miss-adventure, etc).

FFC: A few years ago I painted the oldest pub in munich. This year it was demolished for a new parking garage or somethink like that and they found a old bomb from the WWII under it. So, I could say, I painted a picture above a bomb... Here's a Youtube video of the bomb while it was blast controled: Link

Dr. Christophers: Talk to me about "Fast Forward Crew" designs (wishes) for the future with regards to your artwork, etc.

FFC: The Fast Forward Crew is a family business about fun, beer and shit talking. In the future I would like to try more travel, and paint in other countries, meet more people and try to take over the world.
